Presence of wafer cassettes on a conveyor

To sense the presence of wafer cassettes on a conveyor is utilized a fiber optic amplifier. This amplifier is connected to individual plastic fiber optics located on both sides of the conveyor on which silicon wafers are transported. The beam is broken whenever a cassette is present. Lenses that extend sensing range are fitted onto each fiber sensing tip.
