SG EXTENDED series guarantees full application coverage thanks to the following versions :

• SG2-M ‘Muting’: Type 2 – 30mm resolution with integrated Muting function for all packaging and material handling applications;
• SG4-E ‘Programmable’: Type 4 – 14mm and 30mm resolution with integrated and configurable Cascade, Muting and Blanking functions all in the same part number.

Integrated functions are selectable and configurable in 2 different ways:

• Basic Configuration Mode (BCM): push buttons located on both TX and RX allow user to configure the device in a very easy and quick way;
• Advanced Configuration Mode (ACM): a friendly GUI interface on PC communicates with the barrier through Ethernet and leads the customer through the configuration process step by step.

Datalogic Automation is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Fieldbus ToolKit, the new primary development kit whenever you have to connect Fieldbus powered Identification Products to the most common PLC infrastructures.

PLC programmers do not have to start from scratch anymore, the Fieldbus ToolKit will provide them ready-to-use implementation of communication drivers (i.e. DAD), remote configuration (i.e. host mode) and simple, bit-like, Digital I/O conditioning.
The Fieldbus ToolKit are deployed both as software libraries freely downloadable from the company Web site (see Fieldbus ToolKit dedicated page) and together with Genius CD-ROM present on most of our Identification products.

We are pleased to announce that starting on Jan. 31st 2012, all NVS will be equipped with a new software release – version V4 – featuring some important improvements:

New, enhanced decoding libraries

The decoding libraries engine has been optimized in order to lower decoding time on several 1D families, Datamatrix and QR Code as well as improved to support state-of-the-art reading performances with low contrast and low height codes.

Volume estimation

It is now possible to obtain parcels volume and position estimation (minimum surrounding cuboids) by using the information from height barriers and side positioning sensors. This feature is not intended to replace dimensioner functionality – it is neither legal for trade nor reaching dimensioners’ accuracy, the total error on each linear dimensions being ±25 (mm).
This feature always requires the installation of the full sensors kit.

Advanced Image Cropping

Cropping images before saving them is very important to reduce image processing and transmission times. In the past single-side cameras couldn’t crop saved images.
This feature always requires the installation of the full sensors kit.

Datalogic’s new 2D imager Matrix 450™ captures 5 million pixels 15 times per second and delivers unprecedented reading performance regarding area coverage and speed, thus enabling a wide range of logistic applications, never covered before by a 2D-Imager.

Thanks to its extraordinary acquisition rate at very high resolution – also supported by a strong illuminator – Matrix 450™ is the perfect solution for high speed transportation on small and middle size conveyors. With Matrix 450™, multiple reading attempts are no longer needed: thanks to the large area coverage in a single shot, the highest rate of reading performance and ease of use are granted.

No moving parts, rugged metal construction, IP65 enclosure rate and operative temperature up to 45°C ensuring a long life cycle even in harsh industrial environments.

The new SG-SRT evolves and improves SE-SRT connection box supposed to be obsolete at the end of JUNE 2011. Based on Datalogic CBX800 GATEWAY housing SG-SRT is developed to fit the advanced functionalities of new SG BODY BIG, SG BODY REFLECTOR and SG BODY COMPACT safety light curtains guaranteeing easy installation, connection, configuration and use.

SG-SRT is then provided in 2 different models.
SG-SRT-1 version represents the natural replacement of SE-SRT. In palletizing machines or robot cells it’s much more comfortable to have OVERRIDE and RESTART commands locally, by each curtain, in order to keep under control every single protected area.
SG-SRT-1 fulfills those needs thanks to :

• Lighted restart button and output status / weak signal led: button is ON when curtain is NORMAL OPERATION and turn OFF when curtains’ beams are interrupted;
• OVERRIDE KEY;
• 2 INTEGRATED SAFETY FORCE GUIDED RELAYS : 3 NO + 1 NC each;
• EDM : it’s possible to select, through dedicate jumpers, if realizing EDM circuit internally or externally through force guided contactors;
• Fairlead for passage of cables towards the machine for:
• TX wires;
• RX wires;
• Power supply;
• Connection with output contacts of the internal safety relays and static outputs of the light curtain;
• SG-SRT-2 is especially designed to work together with new SG BODY BIG and SG BODY REFLECTOR series exploiting their full functionalities.

Implementing the same functions of SG-SRT-1 model, SG-SRT-2 has also:

• An integrated MUTING LED LAMP. Customer can select, through a dedicate jumper, is using it or connecting to an external MUTING LAMP;
• o Selection of MANUAL or AUTOMATIC restart (through a dedicate jumper);
• Fairlead for passage of cables towards the machine for:
• TX wires;
• RX wires;
• Power supply;
• Connection with output contacts of the internal safety relays and static outputs of the light curtain;
